Location: Ocean City, Maryland
Price: $180
Book on VRBO
Z’s Treehouse is a condo in midtown Ocean City, where restaurants, the beach, shops, and everything happening is within walking distance. It’s not precisely a treehouse but the owners call it such due to its private deck and gorgeous ocean views.
The interiors are meticulously designed, with plenty of beach-themed decor and contemporary furnishings. There’s one bedroom and 1 bathroom in this rental, and sleeps 6, with a couple of sleeping options for guests in the living area.
There’s also a hot tub in the bathroom, a full kitchen, a washer and dryer area, high-speed WiFi, and a seating area on the deck. Children are allowed, making this Maryland "treehouse" rental a great option for families who want to enjoy a home away from home while enjoying the exploits of Ocean City.
Amusement parks, great shopping, and the best restaurants are only walking distance away, and of course, Ocean City Beach, which is the highlight of staying here, is only 137 steps from your front door.
2. The Lakefront Treehouse

Location: McHenry, Maryland
Price: $547
Book on Travelocity
This has got to be one of my favorite treehouse rentals ever. It is absolutely gorgeous, with everything you need to make a memorable family vacation, as well as conveniences unrivaled by other treehouse rentals I’ve seen.
First of all, its location is breathtaking. It sits on a sloping piece of land right in front of Deep Creek Lake. For this alone, you’ve got spectacular views of the lake, allowing you to wake up with jaw-dropping views of beautiful nature right in front of and around you.
It’s located within nature but not too far from the city that you’ll feel isolated. It also has a well-manicured and private yard that faces the lake, making it a great spot to enjoy a picnic or simply lounge around outdoors.
This Maryland treehouse rental has 6 bedrooms, 4+ bathrooms, and sleeps 16. This tells you it’s a great vacation getaway for a big family or even several families. Features include a hot tub in one of the bathrooms, an outdoor hot tub, a fully-equipped kitchen, a washer and dryer area, a picnic area, a BBQ grill on the deck, two wrap-around decks on two levels, a loft-size attic for kids’ sleeping area, and a small, private boat dock only steps away from the property.
I mean, what more can you ask for? This picture-perfect treehouse in McHenry, Maryland, is definitely one for the books.
3. Ella’s Enchanted Treehouses

Location: Bittinger, Maryland
Price: $315 and above
Book on Tripadvisor
Although I’m singing praises for The Treehouse on the Lake, the next on our list comes second. Ella’s Enchanted Treehouse is a property with 4 gorgeous tree houses built on actual trees and placed in different areas within the woods.
These luxurious tree houses are located adjacent to the Savage River State Forest, which gives you plenty of outdoor adventures to explore. Go on a hike, go biking, have a picnic, watch wildlife, go bird watching, and so much more.
I am going to feature two of the treehouses, which caught my eye the most: The Cozy Spruce and The Gathering Tree.
I love this treehouse for its romantic appeal. It’s marketed as a romantic retreat and located the farthest in the property for some privacy and seclusion but not too far that you’ll feel distant from everything else.
It has 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, and sleeps a maximum of 3. Though it’s a couple’s retreat, kids under the age of 16 can stay here, making it perfect for couples with young kids.
The rustic exterior is stunning, and its dramatic height makes it an authentic treehouse experience. It also has a kitchen, a fire pit with outdoor furniture, and a deck that offers beautiful views of nature.
On the other end of the spectrum is The Gathering Tree, which is a rental for 5 to 6 people, making it an ideal option for a family or group. There are full amenities in this stunning log cabin theme treehouse, where wooden stairs and railings that look raw and rustic are the main draw of the interior.
It has a loft with 2 beds, a bathroom with a hot tub, and two decks: one on the front and the other on the back for a private spot.
4. New Loft with South River View
(Photo from Expedia)
Location: Riva, Maryland
Price: $144
Book on Expedia
This treehouse loft is located in Sylvan Shores, a much-coveted neighborhood in Riva, Maryland with a community swimming hole. It’s also a quiet, family-friendly community, which also offers a variety of fun activities for guests and residents.
This rental has 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, and sleeps 4. It also has a well-equipped kitchenette, air conditioning, a BBQ grill, WiFi, and a small deck. Though the treehouse is small and minimal, the area is what you’re here for. The Annapolis Harbour Center is only a 6-minute drive, while the South River is only a few minutes away. The downtown area is also a short drive, giving you easy access to restaurants, shops, and fun activities in town.
5. Charming Cabin Treehouse
(Photo from VRBO)
Location: Garrett County, Maryland
Price: $132
Book on VRBO
And last but not least, is this Charming Cabin Treehouse. It’s a beautiful family-friendly treehouse rental with 4 bedrooms, and 4 bathrooms, and sleeps 8.
It is also located in a quiet location, but not too far away that you won’t be able to explore nearby sights and activities. Everything is a stone’s throw away from this rental, which includes restaurants, shops, and modern conveniences.
There are also 2 covered decks and an outdoor hot tub, and the lower level serves as the entertainment area for guests. There's a TV, a DVD library, a super sofa, and board games for lazy evenings.
Deep Creek Lake is also nearby, providing guests with plenty of nature to explore and outdoor adventures.
Take your pick from any of this treehouse for your next Maryland adventure. Whether you’re a couple looking for a romantic retreat, a small family opting for a convenient and accessible rental, or a big group in search of the ultimate treehouse vacation home, Maryland’s treehouse rentals have it all for you.
