River Road Treehouses is a property that has 6 treehouses and cabins open for guests. It has a private acre of riverfront access, giving you exclusive opportunities to fish, kayak, swim, and have a picnic on the riverbank.
The Guadalupe River, which is located across the property, offers exclusive use for guests. There are plenty of outdoor seating areas, as well as firepits, BBQ pits, picnic tables, and hammocks for guests to use. It is open from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m., and swimming, kayaking, and fishing are allowed. However, they don’t have their equipment, so you might want to rent a kayak or tube from nearby establishments.
Out of the 6 treehouses, I love the Mourning Dove Tree House because, from the pictures, it looks the prettiest, and is located in an area that offers privacy. As you walk towards this treehouse, you will be greeted by huge 80-foot Cypress trees, and a 100-foot footbridge that leads you to the rental. Once inside, you’ll find a loft area for sleeping, an open living area and kitchen space, a pirate deck, and a bathroom with a walk-in shower. There's also air conditioning, WiFi, and a Smart TV, which entertains at night, or when you plan to stay in.
This treehouse is perfect for couples or a small family with 1 or 2 kids.
6. Grandview Treetops

Location: Grandview, Texas
Price: $188, a minimum of 2 nights
Book on Travelocity
And last on our list is Grandview Treetops, which offers 2 treehouses on a ranch, with more treehouses soon to be built. Currently, as of August 2023, there are two treehouses, and I like The Viewpoint better because it’s more rustic, compared to the new treehouse which is more contemporary in design.
The Viewpoint is a 300-square-foot rental with 2 decks, a bathroom, a kitchenette, a sleeping area for two, stunning views of the valley, and romantic sunsets. It’s for adults only so it’s perfect for romantic couples, a couple of friends, or a solo traveler.
There’s also a gas grill and fire pit, air conditioning, and your private balcony. Within the ranch, you can enjoy hiking trails, a picnic area, a garden, an arcade/games room, BBQ grills, ponds, creeks, wildlife, and plenty of outdoor space to explore.
If you want to reconnect with nature and explore the great outdoors while staying in comfort, choose from any of these treehouse cabins in Texas. They offer all the modern amenities, but they’re situated in stunning locations close to nature, as well as presenting a handful of outdoor activities that will make you create undeniable adventures with your partner, kids, and the entire family.
