Set on a 150-acre property, the Tree Houses at River Ranch is considered to be the premier tree house resort in Hocking Hills. Aside from offering luxury treehouse accommodations, the property offers plenty of activities to enjoy, such as hiking trails, an old Amish barn, oversized outdoor games, and a picnic area. Some of the features of the treehouse rental include a hot tub, a children’s playground, canoeing gear, hiking trails, and reliable WiFi.

In terms of the room features, there’s a dining area, air conditioning, blackout curtains, cable and satellite TV, an additional bathroom, and a walk-in shower. Being a pet and kid-friendly treehouse resort, I love this rental for its family-friendly atmosphere and for being open to events, such as family reunions, corporate gatherings, and other special occasions.

2. Acadia Cliffs TreeHouse Cabins

(Photo from Airbnb)

Location: Cutler, Ohio

Price: $169

What makes this treehouse rental different from other treehouse accommodations on this list is its location. It is situated on 20-acre land around the Acadia Cliff Wildlife Preserve, making it a perfect jumping-off point for a wide range of adventure and outdoor activities. If you’re looking to unwind and disconnect from the world, this is the place for you.

I love that it offers an off-the-grid experience, with no phone landline or cable TV. If you need phone coverage, there’s a cell phone booster in certain areas of the cabin. For entertainment, there’s a DVD player and board games for you and your group to enjoy. You won’t find yourself scrolling through social media during your Hocking Hills holiday when you stay at this place.

Features of this treehouse include a fully functional kitchen with an eclectic oven and other appliances, a bathroom with a shower, and an outdoor shower on the 2nd-floor balcony.

3. The Canopy Treehouse at Canopy Ridge Cabins

I love this treehouse for being a traditional log cabin but it’s built up in the trees. It's nestled 20 feet off the ground, with a second-story deck that’s 23 feet up. The treehouse cabin can accommodate a group of 4 adults and it features a fully equipped kitchen, a bathroom with a walk-in tiled shower, and a living room with a gas fireplace. There is one bedroom with a king-size bed with luxurious sheets, as well as a pull-out sofa bed in the living room.

A hot tub is also available out on the balcony where you can also find an outdoor shower and fire pit. Unlike other treehouse cabins in Hocking Hills, this place has WiFi and cable TV, so you won’t have to worry about connection and entertainment.

4. Comfort in the Woods

My favorite feature of this treehouse cabin is the wrap-around deck that encircles the entire place. It is elevated 20 feet off the ground with a high platform, making it nearer to the canopy of trees that surround it. Giving you a bird’s eye view, you can occasionally see wildlife roaming around the property, such as deer and other forms of wildlife.

The treehouse accommodates two adults, and children are not allowed because of the height and other safety concerns. This means this cabin is perfect for couples who want to unwind and enjoy the adventures waiting for them in Hocking Hills.

Other features of the treehouse include a large deck with a dining area, a hot tub in the covered back deck, a fully-equipped kitchen, and a gas fireplace.

5. Among the Trees Lodging

This treehouse cabin was made by hand by its owners, giving it a special touch of love. There are 4 levels within the treehouse that are set on a hillside, so the owners are offering the place for adults only, for security reasons.

The cabin is set on a 24-acre property, where you will find a variety of rock formations, woods, and creeks, making it perfect for hiking or strolling around. For more adventure, the property is only a stone's throw away from the Saltpetre Nature Preserve, the Old Man’s Cave, and many other top attractions.

Book on Vrbo

This treehouse is a studio-style rental that’s tucked away along a hillside. It features a convenient location, only 12 miles from the Old Man’s Cave, Cedar Falls, and Ash Cave. Kids and pets are allowed, but the treehouse can only accommodate up to 2 adults.

Features of the tree house include a fully-working bathroom, complete with an indoor shower, sink, and toilet. It also has a fully-functional kitchen, which includes a mini-refrigerator, convection oven, toaster, coffee maker, and hotplate setup. Though the treehouse can only accommodate two adults, the living room has a queen-size pull-out couch for kids, so a small family can stay here.

My favorite part of this rental, however, is the back door. It’s a 16-foot glass sliding door that exposes the beautiful woodland surroundings. The wraparound deck features path lighting at night, so you can enjoy a nightcap on the deck. There’s also a working central air and heat system, so you’re always comfortable and cozy no matter what the weather.

There are over 900 cabins, inns, and treehouses in Hocking Hills, making it easy for travelers to choose a place to spend their holidays and adventures. However, if you want to take advantage of the beautiful natural wonders of Hocking Hills, there’s no better way than to stay at a treehouse that offers both seclusion and modern comforts.

Get to live out your childhood dreams of staying in a treehouse, where an outdoor deck exposes you to tree canopies you can touch, breathing in the fresh air, and marveling at the beauty that exists in Hocking Hills, Ohio.
